The Forestdale Foster/Adoptive
Parents Association
The Forestdale Foster/Adoptive Parents Association is an organization established by foster and adoptive parents affiliated with the agency. Its purpose is to:
- Assist the administration on policies and procedures affecting foster parents
- Guide in the training and development of foster parents and act as a support group when necessary
- Serve as a mechanism for facilitating input into the program
- Assist foster parents and the agency in carrying out their commitment to a better life for foster children
- Enhance mutual coordination, cooperation and communication among foster parents, administration, social service staff and birth parents
- Promote the knowledge and expertise among foster parents and social service staff in their respective fields
All foster/adoptive resource parents who are certified or approved and remain as foster parents are eligible for member ship in the Association. The Association's Board of Directors consists of active members elected by the general membership.
The Association meets on the second Tuesday of the month at Forestdale, Inc., 67-35 112th St., Forest Hills, NY. Each meeting begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM.
Membership dues are $20.00 annually with monthly dues of $5.00 per family per month.
