Preventive Services Program
The Preventive Services Program was established to assist clients in meeting their challenges in life. All direct services Case Planners have a vast amount of skills and training in understanding modern day challenges and constraints, which plague families and tear at the very fabric of the family's stability. The staff has come aboard with an eagerness to work with families.
The Preventive Services Program will continue in the tradition of Forestdale, Inc. by helping to strengthen families and empower children and families to live fuller and more productive lives.
What services are available
- Individual, family and group counseling for domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, parent/child conflict, corporal punishment, parenting skills training
- Advocacy services to assist with obtaining government entitlements, employment, academic and occupational training
- When necessary, referrals are made to community providers for services that include: mental health, legal services, pre-natal care, substance abuse and AIDS related services
Who Can Participate
- Families that have at least one child below the age of 18 in the home
- Families residing in the following Community Districts (CDs):
Community District Neighborhoods 3 East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and North Corona 4 Elmhurst and Corona 5 Middle Village, Maspeth, Glendale, Ridgewood 6 Rego Park and Forest Hills
